Friendship Baptist Church is a community of disciples committed to engaging God in worship, one another in fellowship, and the world in discipleship for Jesus' sake.

On this site you will find information about who we are, what we believe, and how we fulfill the mission God has given us. If we can provide you with additional information, please contact us.

We look forward to you joining us in worship soon!

  • Campus Reopening

On Sunday, June 7, 2020, we will begin a three-phase reopening of our church campus. Phase One will focus on our normal worship gatherings, Phase Two will add back Sunday School, and Phase Three will reactivate other activities and programs. Throughout these phases we will modify certain practices and procedures to promote the health of our congregation and minimize the transmission of disease. You can read more about this plan here or listen to Pastor Nicholas discuss the plan here.

  • Current Sermon Series

We are currently studying the epistle to the Hebrews. This sermon, written in letter form, is filled with words of witness to the supremacy of the Lord Jesus and warning for a group of disciples who have not yet grown up in their faith. The preacher regularly employs nautical terminology to underscore the spiritual condition of his congregation and to call them to corrective action in light of the finished work of Christ. Like those disciples, we know that the tendency to drift away from Jesus is always present with us. We must learn to examine ourselves and take ation when needed to hold close to Christ. The epistle to the Hebrews will help us do just that.

  • Drive-In Worship

As we prepare to reopen our church campus in phases and return to our normal schedule by the end of summer, we will continue to offer Drive-In Worship. Through the end of May, this will be the only option for a worship gathering. However, throughout the summer we will continue to broadcast the service on the radio in our parking lot. This will be a means of gathering with the church for those who may not be ready to come in the building due to ongoing health concerns.

  • Digital Discipleship

Throughout this extended season when our church family is not able to meet in person, our pastor is helping us remain together in spirit through a daily digital discipleship series called Letters from Home. You can find these videos on our Facebook page and YouTube channel as well as on our website.

  • Pastoral Care Update

On Thursday, March 19, 2020, Governor Ivey issued an order prohibiting all hospital visitation until further notice. The only exception to this is certain end-of-life situations. Consequently, Pastor Nicholas will not be able to make visits to members or their families should they be hospitalized at this time. However, he still desires to provide pastoral care to you even if it is from a distance. If you or your loved one is hospitalized, having surgery, or is sick, please let him know so that he can pray for you, request prayer from the church family, and be a resource to you through illness and recovery.
