Have you ever wondered if you will go to Heaven when you die? The question, "Where will I spend eternity?" is the most important question any person can ask. Heaven is a real place, just as Hell is a real place. God loves us and He created us so that we might spend forever enjoying, worshipping and serving Him. Something happened that disrupted this, and that something is sin. The Bible teaches very clearly that we are all sinful. It's not just that we make mistakes sometimes or just have a bad moment, our nature is evil. Jeremiah 17:9 says, "the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked..." This puts us in a predicament because God is infinitely holy. He is perfect and can only accept perfection. He tells us in His Word that He will by no means acquit the guilty. That places us under God's condemnation.
The incredible thing is, even though we justly deserve God's wrath because of our sin, He still loves us! The Bible tells us that "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." God's Son is Jesus Christ who died on a cross 2000 years ago to pay the penalty for our sins. Three days later He rose from the dead. He took our sins upon Himself, even though He was perfect, in order that we might receive God's forgiveness and eternal life.
There is something you must do, however. Eternal life is a gift, it cannot be earned, but it must be received, and that by faith. We must repent of our sin - that is have a change of mind and turn from our sin. Second, we must fully believe in Jesus and in Jesus alone for forgiveness and eternal life. If we do this, He will save us. He will forgive our sin and give us eternal life with Him in Heaven. Have you received God's free gift of eternal life? If you have never done so, we at Friendship Baptist Church urge you to trust in Christ today - it is the most important decision you will ever make.
If you would like to do this now, it is very simple. A Prayer of Faith and Repentance is all that is neccessary and here is an example to follow.
"Dear Lord, I know that Jesus is Your Son, and that He died on the corss and was raised from the Dead.
I know that I have sinned and need forgiveness. I am willing to trun away from my sins, and recieve Jesus as my Savior and Lord
Thank you for saving me, In Jesus name, AMEN!!"
Now if you prayed this prayer or one similar it would bless our hearts if you would send us a note, email or call us at the office and let us know that you have trusted Jesus as your Savior where we as a church can rejoice with you.
